Hi! I'm Cerelia and I am a London based actor, writer and director. This summer I'll be performing my one woman semi autobiographical show, I Had a Wet Dream in Milton Keynes, at Camden People's Theatre. This show explores modern dating and how the media we consume has affected romantic relationships. Throughout it's rehearsal process I will be raising money for Brook Young People!

Brook Young People are an incredible charity making sure everybody can have access to safe sexual healthcare. As well as providing education, advice and support on leaving abusive relationships.

In the last year 1 in every 8 young woman was a victim of domestic abuse, sexual assault or stalking. With statistics showing that nearly 40% of young men hold positive views towards men like Andrew Tate. For the first time, the government has declared violence against women and girls a national emergency.

In order to combat this, education is vital so these violently misogynistic attitudes are tacked as early as possible - in schools and in the home.

Brook do essential work in campaigning for better sex education and supporting those affected by the brutally dangerous views seen in today’s media that continues to contribute to the abuse of women.

Raising money for this charity throughout the process of making this show is so important to me. As we live with an ever growing online world where damaging views are easily accessible, educating young people on consent and safe sex is more crucial than ever to promoting healthy sexual and romantic relationships. According to research conducted by Brook the current sex education guidelines for schools creates “a culture of fear and stigma around key topics that are intrinsic to the comprehensive relationships and sex education needed to keep children and young people safe and healthy”. This must change and Brook are doing incredible work to make that happen as well as providing much needed sexual healthcare and support.
