I rescued five cats from a deli basement in the Bronx across from Lincoln hospital. The Deli owner wanted them out on Friday or he was going to dump them in another location so they couldn’t get back. He stopped feeding them a week or two before i rescued them. The basement was beyond disgusting. The smell was horrendous I couldn’t breath from the ammonia smell. There was pee and poop everywhere all over the food and drinks stored down there. All the cats looked horrible. I could see they were very sick and beat up so I rushed them to the ER vet without a plan. I just knew I couldn’t leave them there and they needed help. There are two males and three females, one of which was pregnant and she had her babies within hours after I rescued her. She had four babies and she is rejecting them. She has a bad URI. They had to be put her on a feeding tube because she won’t eat or drink. Cheddar one of the males is FELV positive and Dusty the other male is FIV positive. Honestly I’m in way over my head. I cannot afford the care they need. I’m a single income house with 5 dogs & 5 cats & 5 ferrets. I’m begging for help for at least the two males. I don’t want them to suffer because I can’t afford their care. I’m begging for a rescue to please help. They are all so sweet and friendly. They just want to be pet and loved.
