Bronson and Michael's Short Film

Hello!

We’re Bronson Diallo and Michael Chung, a writing/directing team with lofty goals and a plan that just might work. For the past few years, we’ve been typing our little fingers to the bone in a feverish effort to make it as writers in Hollywood, and somehow, we’ve actually had some success doing so. We’ve recently sold a 30-minute comedy pilot to Sony Television Studios! It’s a far cry from having met each other on the set of a low-budget music video, standing in the hot sun with a cheap camera and communal bottle of water. Since starting work together, not only have we sold to Sony, but we also have projects in development at Conan O’Brien’s Conaco (The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, Conan, People of Earth), River Road Entertainment (12 Years a Slave, The Tree of Life) and elsewhere.

Now more than ever, we’re eager to kick our careers into overdrive and summit yet another mountain. And we just might be asking for your help to put a little fuel in the tank. With your help, we can produce and direct this project with all of the resources necessary to make it everything we believe it can be. Your contributions will go directly to hiring a skilled crew, camera and lighting equipment, and the perfect cast.

Our short is called LIVING THE DREAM.
Logline: Eager to make a good impression on the first day of his new job at a high-pressure and fast-paced hedge fund, an anxious junior analyst is mortified when he falls victim to a ransomware attack on their company.

They say write what you know, so we did. A comedic take on what it means to be a young person in today’s workforce, LIVING THE DREAM follows Simon Arnold, a newly minted junior analyst who’s plagued with anxiety about his role in America’s tough job market and the surprising amount of responsibility that comes with entry-level positions. What’s more stressful than getting your first job at a world-renowned hedge fund infamous for its lightning-fast environment? If you said, “losing the company’s entire portfolio on day one,” you answered correctly.

Simon only snagged this job because his frat brother, Dex, is a rising star at the company and pushed hard for Simon. It isn’t even lunch time before the entire office blames Simon for destroying the company. Simon is left bewildered, jobless, and the laughingstock of the entire world.

What we have in this story is a large-scale, yet bite-sized three-act story with the weight of a movie many times its breadth. We’re confident that the end result will be a captivating calling card that adequately represents who we are and what we’re capable of as creators. With this short and the guidance of our manager, Ben Neumann at Kaplan/Perrone Entertainment, we can better solidify our careers in this town and position ourselves to direct episodes of our own show at Sony (fingers crossed) and a plethora of other million dollar ideas we have in the pipeline!

Sounds great, right? What’s that? You want to be involved? Well, do we have the answer to your problems! Now, with one simple donation in the amount of your choice, you too can go around bragging to all your friends about how you're a producer now! Let’s all achieve Hollywood success together!

We sincerely thank you for your consideration, and hope to see you at the premiere!
