Dear Friends, Family, and My Inner Circle,
I want to begin by expressing my deepest gratitude for the unwavering support and love you’ve shown me. Now that I have arrived home in Chicago, facing the challenge of sustaining myself without a source of income while battling for my life, your generosity means the world to me. I truly would not be able to navigate this journey without each and every one of you standing by my side.
As many of you know, after surviving rectal cancer 22 years ago, I never imagined I would face cancer again. However, on February 17th, while visiting a friend in Nevada, I suffered a minor heart attack and was rushed to Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas. During my evaluation and three-week stay, doctors discovered blood clots in my lungs, pneumonia in both lungs, and, most shockingly, a mass on my left lung. This led to a diagnosis of lung cancer, breaking my heart but strengthening my resolve to fight once more.
Amid this whirlwind, there is a ray of hope: Northwestern Hospital and the University of Chicago both have advanced studies on the type of lung cancer I was diagnosed with. I am currently seeking second and third opinions from these leading institutions to determine the best course of action. The doctors have emphasized the urgency of moving quickly, and I am committed to making rapid decisions to embark on the most effective treatment path.
This urgency necessitated my move from the West Coast back home to Chicago to access the critical care I need. Due to complications from blood clots, I had to adjust my travel plans, opting for a train journey on March 13th to ensure my safety by allowing regular movement during the trip. Now settled in Chicago, I am preparing for a challenging period ahead, potentially facing 4-6+ months without work. As a realtor and independent contractor, my career must take a back seat while I focus on treatment and fighting for my life. Despite these challenges, I am claiming victory and remain steadfast in my determination to overcome this battle.
I have always cherished being the helper, but now I find myself in need of assistance to mend my broken wing so I can soar once more. I am reaching out to ask for your support in covering the costs associated with my move, transportation of my belongings (including shipping my car), initial expenses, and the means to stay afloat during my fight against lung cancer.
Every donation, no matter the size, brings me one step closer to accessing the treatment I desperately need.
I am deeply grateful for your love and support during this challenging time. With God first and foremost, and my inner circle by my side, I believe we can overcome this battle together. We did it before, and we can do it again. Please keep my 27-year-old son, Myles, in your prayers; he is beyond devastated.
I love you all so much, and thank you for being there for me. ❤️❤️❤️
I will NOT be sharing this openly on social media, or with the general population.
