Tattoo so I could sing my songs during the 4th parade. One of the speakers slipped, and I fell backwards out of the FJ headfirst and threw my arm out to break my fall and avoid a neck injury, and my elbow snapped in the wrong direction. I don't have any broken bones, but my bicep severed from the tendon. Torn tendon and ligament surgery requires urgency for any chance of normal healing. The healing process is long, and I cannot work this way and will be out of work for atleast 3 months AFTER a $10,000 surgery

I don't have insurance, and the ER bill alone is nearly the goal of this funding project. Surgery will be a whole other ball game.

ER without insurance dismissed the fuck out of me but I was proactive intuitive and know my fucking body. I pushed through with help from good caring people for MRI to determine my situation and paid out of pocket. My bicep is hanging on by a thread and I need immediate surgery or I will never have a normal arm again. The lack of compassion in the health care system is astounding but I’m a fucking fighter and you can’t stop me. I pushed and was transparent about everything from injury to evaluation and with the help of people that actually heard me I was able to get in with a top tier orthopedic surgeon for this coming Monday. If I had waited and gone on the advice of the ER I would have a gimp noodle dangler bicep for the rest of my life.. thank you for the people that fucking listen when someone tells you what’s wrong. Community and mutual aid will save us. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. Don’t let them tell you shit when you know you know !
