Broken Pipe Leaves Our Home in Ruins

Our Dream Home is Rotting — and Allstate Will Not Help

In one soggy step, our lives changed!

On Aug 8, 2025, I felt a soft spot in our bathroom floor. By the next morning, my husband found the cause — a broken, disconnected water pipe under the bathtub.

When contractors checked the damage, they found:

• Rotten floor joists beyond the bathroom into the living room, hallway, and kitchen

• Water-soaked subfloors

• Black mold

• Risk of the house collapsing

We called our insurance company, expecting help. Instead, they denied our claim, provided us with two nights in a hotel (which they later revoked), and instructed us to contact the builder.

The builder? Bankrupt and gone due to already being sued by other homeowners in our subdivision.

Our home was built in 2021, and we are the first owners. Now everything we own is in storage pods, at risk of being ruined by mold.

We’re senior citizens, living in a camper on our property. My husband is battling a terminal illness and can no longer do the handyman things he did all his life.

This is not how we planned to live out our retirement years!
