MY STORY/OUR STORY
Grief is a topic I have been confronted with many times in my life. But almost two years ago I was confronted with one of the most traumatic and shocking experiences of my life.
My mother, with whom I was supposed to be on holiday, died suddenly after landing at the airport. To this day, there are no words that can truly describe the process I am in or will be in.
But on this trip, I met other people who are also struggling with the issue of suffering and grief. I do believe that they are many ways to go about healing, and writing and creating this piece has allowed me an opportunity to serve others through my struggles. I encountered hope and love and peace, when I thought it was all over.
This piece was created together with 8 talented women all with their battles and gifts. This piece is only possible because of the people who have stood by me and my crazy vision since day one. And I just want to say thank you.
They say acceptance is the final stage of grief, but I believe there is more than acceptance waiting at the end of the tunnel. This dance theatre piece explores the stages of grief, expressing real stories and encounters. I hope to see you there because any grief can bring hope if you let it. If you cannot be there, I do hope you will consider supporting us so we can cover the costs for our location and production costs. Art can make a difference with your support.
