Broken collar bone and ribs SUCK.

Okay guys. Normally, my little sister Renee is comfortably positioned on the "other side of the table," advocating for someone who can't advocate for themselves. But at 945pm on June 10th, while heading home with bleach & dawn dish soap, the tables turned.
Renee was obeying all traffic laws riding her electric scooter, when a car failed to stop, while turning right, onto Harlow Road from Arcadia Street. Renee was forced to slam on her brakes in order to avoid hitting the car. This abrubpt stop sent her flying over the handlebars of her scooter, causing her to land on the pavement, taking the brunt of the impact to the upper-left area of her body/chest.
Darian took her to River Bend where several X-rays & a few staples later, she was released. She had 1 broke clavical & 3 broken ribs. She had no signs of improvement over the next few days & began to have blood in her urine. On June 14th, while visiting our Mom's in Sweet Home, her BP was dangerously high.. (219/174) therefore I took her to the Lebanon Community Hospital.
Renee was immediately admitted into the ICU, which is where she remains currently. Their awesome medical team has taken this time to properly diagnose all Renee's injuries sustained from this unfortunate accident. They've also got Renee's pain level & blood pressure under control & are working on transferring her to a rehabilitation facility, in order to continue the next part of the journey in her healing process.
As many of you know, Renee recently relocated to Eugene from Lebanon & hasn't been at her new job long enough to earn any PTO. Thankfully, she has medical insurance, which will cover the bulk of her medical expenses less co-pays/out of pocket etc.
And although she swears she has super-human healing powers, without question she's going to be out-of-work for at least a couple of months. As we all know, when the work stops, the bills & monthly living expenses don't. And unfortunately, the POS who caused this accident, sped away without so much as slowing down at the stop sign, let alone taking any responsibility. Although there were a couple witnesses, nobody was able to get any portion of the vehicle's license plate number.
If you happen to be in a position to give a "hand-up" to my bratty little sister, it certainly would be appreciated. If not financially, you could always just send her a reminder message that we're pretty grateful she is going to be okay!! Thanks guys, for your consideration & support! Shelly, The Big Sister
