Hi, my name is Athena, and I am trying to raise funds for my brother's surgery and medical bills.
If you know Joey, you know how unlikely he is to ask for help- but he needs it now. Joey was involved in a motorcycle accident on the evening of November 6th. He went wide in a turn and struck a vehicle on the side of the road in the dark at St. Mary's by The Sea.
Joey now has a totaled motorcycle and a severely broken elbow. We are incredibly fortunate that he is here today and suffered as few injuries as he did. *there is an X-ray image at the very bottom of this post showing Joey's elbow*
Joey will need an open reduction and internal fixation procedure, where doctors will surgically reposition and stabilize the bone. This surgery has a painful healing process that will leave him unable to work for a minimum of 6 weeks.
He has spent a few hundred dollars on initial visits, which is nothing compared to the $11,000 to $30,000 the surgery is estimated to cost.
- Joey has no medical insurance to help with these costs.
Please please consider helping Joey out. Being responsible for medical and living costs while having no income will significantly strain him. We are helping as much as we can- Joey doesn't expect others to cover all the costs, but we hope we can help prevent him from falling too deep into a hole.
