Broken Brain Needs Best Friend!

Hi my name is Harriet, and after a major breakdown in 2019 I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Condition, at the age of 23.

Without any help throughout the pandemic, I had to endure psychosis and seizures, and as a result lost all contact with friends and family. It was the darkest time of my life, only made lighter by an unexpected friendship with a beautiful German Shepherd puppy, Merlin. Being around Merlin breathed new life into me and showed me the power that animals can have to rejuvenate the lives of people in desperate situations.

Even though still deeply traumatised I made a break for a new start in life by moving to Brighton in 2023, which turned out to be an amazing decision; only the painful cracks of years without assistance have still remained.

Right now I am struggling with PTSD and agoraphobia, unable to leave the house most days. I know from my past experience that training a dog of my own would be the best option for pulling me out of this devastating rut, and have already linked up with specialist trainers Adolescent Dogs to complete this task.

With your help I will be able to train my own German Shepherd puppy to meet the high assistance dog standards; and have a friend to lead me into my next purposeful stage of life, especially with regards to continuing a higher education.
