Broken ankle- trying to not lose everything

My name is Brian Varney, I work in entertainment doing various forms of Production work. I work on films, concerts & fireworks displays doing everything from Pyrotechnics and Weapons handling to Set Building & Propmaking etc. I also work for a record label doing Illustration/Graphic Design.

After leaving work on July 25th 2023, I was riding my skateboard and had to dodge a speeding car on a residential block. As a result, I ended up going down a hill 30-40mph on my skateboard. I ultimately lost control before hitting a pothole that sent me flying. I broke my ankle into the joint and needed surgery so I could walk again. I now have a titanium plate and screws in my leg.

I just finished a Pyrotechnics certification after a very long, long period of inconsistent work. I have been looking forward to getting back to work and advancing my new career. I will not be able to resume my usual job of building/handling things that entertain people as I can't do physical labor for at least another 6-8 weeks.

I am attempting to raise $5k to cover my expenses for the 2 months of recovery. I have a car payment & unusually high insurance rate for my Kia (thanks Tik Tok) outside of the usual rent, cell service, groceries etc.

These funds are foremost ensuring that I keep my vehicle so I can get back to work with anything I can do throughout this process and what is particularly important about keeping this vehicle is that I have installed a hitch that I use to pull a trailer for the various hauling I do with my associated works.

I would really love to be back to work right now doing the things I love, but I'm following doctors orders to ensure a proper recovery. It's already hairy enough from being immune compromised from Lyme Disease, so I'm lucky I'm healing well. I appreciate your contribution to my success and I can't wait to get back in the game!
