I’m not one to ask for help, but my daughter insisted I share this. I’m a disabled senior and recently had a heart attack that led to a cardiac catheterization. I’ve always tried to help others any way I could, even when I didn’t have much myself, so it’s not easy for me to do this.
After almost 30 years, my central A/C finally gave out — right in the middle of one of the hottest, most humid summers we’ve had. My wife and I are getting by with a small window unit and some fans, but it’s not enough to keep the house safe or comfortable.
I have reached out to several charities for help, but they told me the waiting list is almost two years. The cheapest estimate I’ve been given for a replacement is $8,000, and with higher rent and medical bills, I just can’t cover that on my own.
If you know me, you know I don’t like to ask for much — but if you’re able to help, even a little, or share this, it would mean a lot.
Thank you for your kindness and support,
Grady
