We're living in our car and traveling to California, possibly up to Pittsburgh bc my partner has friends up there that can help him to find work. I'm disabled with a Degree in Digital Cinematography and neither one of us could find work in North Carolina, so we are looking for our future home elsewhere.

Our car is a 2006 Pontiac Vibe AWD and has been regularly maintained. It had 190K miles on it and runs great. We had it checked for road safety bc we knew that we were going on a long trip. We were told that it only needed minor repairs and we were good to go.

However, once we got to Texas it was clear that something was wrong with the car, so we made our way to Austin, Texas so that we could do Uber Delivery to try to get buy, but unfortunately all of the speed bumps and bad roads here made things significantly worse...

Both front CV Axels, Lower Control Arms and Sway bars need to be replaced... Meineke Auto quoted us around $4,000, but they are way overpriced. I found an independent mechanic that can do the job for $1,500. All of our emergency funds are gone due to unlucky phone issues in other states.

Anything at all helps. I'm hoping to be settled somewhere within the next 3 months so that I can return to school to get my Master's Degree in Psychology, so that I can provide for me and my partner in a field that helps others!

I know that there are still good people out there, but it's been really hard to find them. We would be so grateful to have our car back in drivable condition so that we can continue working and going on this journey together to find our new home.
