Brody Is a 19 year old young man who has been through difficulties most people would struggle to even fathom. And yet he is the most charismatic and inspirational person you could ever hope to meet.
At the young age of 8 he was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma. After surgery, radiation and chemo he was finally clear and in remission.
When he was 13 he relapsed. He was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma. Again, he went through surgery, radiation and chemo. Which has had long term repercussions.
And again relapsing at 18 and 19 years old.
After battling ewings sarcoma for 11 yrs with 4 relapses Brodys battle now is not only with ewings but now a new diagnosis of a totally different cancer.
Brody has now been diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive cancer called dedifferentiated chondrosarcoma. He has recently had a cardiac arrest while undergoing a medical procedure and was resuscitated which ended up in a stay in ICU. Only 4 weeks later Brody underwent a 15 hour surgery to remove the tumour which involved removing the scaitic nerve which now will leave Brody with a non functiong limb. Brody will be in hospital for quite sometime which for him and his family is financially crippling. The family also now has to think about how this new diagnosis and surgery will impact Brody in everyday life Brody has faught since he was 8 years with cancer and has always had the most amazing zest for life.
Ewings sarcoma is rare and to have 4 relapses is absolutely not heard of but to also have another cancer such as chrondrosarcoma is medically not heard of.
Any help right now for Brody and his family to fight yet again would be greatly appreciated and to help reduce the stress of having to pay for medical bills, travel and parking costs to and from Peter Mac from Sunbury!
Thank you so much.
