Steve Brodeurs Medical Expenses

Donation protected
February 14th, my father-in-law Steve Brodeur was rushed to Providence Medical Center due to severe stomach pains. The pain was so unbearable that he was unable to walk or stand. Upon arrival, he was diagnosed with diverticulitis and within hours a CT had shown that there were micro perforations of diverticulum.

We are so lucky to have caught this as early as we did as he was immediately placed on sepsis prevention amongst other treatments.

By February 15th Steve seemed to be responding to treatment. By the morning of the 16th his condition rapidly worsened and Steve was admitted into ICU.
Not only does Steve have diverticulitis and micro perforations but now he has been diagnosed with Paralytic Ileus.
Paralytic ileus: Obstruction of the intestine due to paralysis of the intestinal muscles.
Currently, Steve is sedated but experiencing hospital delirium and coming in and out of consciousness. It is very important for a member of our family to be with him at all times in case he wakes up.

Steve is blessed to have his wife and children by his side advocating for his healthcare and well being. My mother in law Sue needs to be at the hospital constantly in case there is a rare moment of consciousness from Steve or if there is a decision to be made about health care. This means she is missing her shifts at work.
Being the primary income, Steve has not worked in five days now and is expected to have a long recovery. No one in our family was prepared for this medical emergency.
February 16th his first and only words for the day were "Get me home so that I can rest for work".

Steve is in stable but serious condition. He has a long road ahead of him but we are optimistic in his recovery. It is also quite possible that Steve will need surgery.

Any and all donations are so appreciated and will help tremendously with everything from medical bills to gas funds.
Please pray for Steve and his family. He is in alot of pain and it is difficult for his loved ones to see him in this condition.

Thank you!
