Hi,
My name is Olly and I run Broadsword Wargaming, a videography and photography channel, specifically targeted at the tabletop gaming industry. My content is available to view at www.youtube.com/broadswordwargaming.
I'm looking to move into a new studio, as the one I'm at is just not viable anymore. It's essentially a shed in the West of Ireland. It leaks, has no heating and is totally unusable in the winter. I've had several floods already, and it's damaging equipment, tables and models.
The area I am in has a small, but amazing community, that I want to help build and grow. I would love to be able to offer everyone a nice environment to sit and play in (as we don't have anywhere locally). The studio would be something fun, interactive, and engaging for the town, and I'd love to get more people involved. I myself remember spending hours in my local Games Workshop store as a child, so it would be great to introduce a new generation to the hobby.
Not only will I need to fit the space out for public use (tables, seating, display cabinets etc.), I'll also need to create a working studio. I have invested all of my own money into the project, but will need newer (and better) equipment to move the whole project forward. Examples of the types of things I need are;
2 x panel lights (£250 each)
Godox SL60 Lights (£150 each)
Fixed camera and light mounts.
Set design.
I will of course, sell my current cameras and lighting, and reinvest it into new equipment. I have learned a lot in the years I've been running the channel, and with my experience and the feedback recieved from the community, I know I can create a lovely space to work in.
Being able to produce fun, entertaining content for people, as well as supporting the hobby in my local area, is amazing. I'm prepared to put everything I have into the new venue, but with your help, I will be able to do so much more. I will produce content and post regular updates on how it's all going, so you can see just where your donations are going.
