MaryAnn is a fighter who has touched the lives of so many. She is a devoted wife, amazing mother of 3 year old twins and a loyal friend. With a new diagnosis of metastatic colon cancer, MaryAnn and her family are needing immediate financial assistance to help with the medical expenses and costs. It's a bit much to wrap your head around...one day your thanking God for your beautiful family and the next you're praying for a few more moments with them. You find yourself staring into the eyes of your kids, not hearing a word they're saying, just wondering how many of those moments that you're going to miss. You glance at your wife in the kitchen, she's cooking breakfast and you notice her mind is a thousand places other than eggs, her hair is a mess, no make-up on, sweat pants, slippers and a t-shirt but still she is just as breathtaking as the first moment you laid eyes on her. The outside noise all comes to a blur and every emotion you've ever known begins to surface as the echo of your diagnosis over and over rains down...you have colon cancer and it is continuing to spread. Flashes of moments throughout your life bend and flow, phrases and thoughts and feelings pass through you in a paralyzing manner. You want so much to believe this is just an obstacle, an obstacle that God will lead you over or through or around...or is this simply part of His mighty plan to bring you home. See, I believe that God is the highest power, he is the Great Physician, he has written the book of our lives before we were born and ultimately every step is his will. This is the part where we, as humans, are not privileged to the outcome of his plan. We are only expected to hold tight to the coattail of our faith and believe that we are exactly who we are because of him and because of the circumstances and situations he has brought us through. God made me a fighter, one that does not and will not take kindly to the detriment of this disease. As my creator, he is well aware and purposely set my journey on this path for reasons beyond my knowledge. Being consistent, determined and most of all being PRESENT for my family is the most important promise I have made...and THAT I will carry out. I will carry that promise no matter the outcome. Whether in the flesh or in their hearts I will be PRESENT. Every moment I have shared with each and every soul be it lengthy or brief, be it tears or laughter or be it all of the above...know that it was shared with the most genuine part of me. I will not be defined by this disease, no matter its influence in my life it will NOT write my story. As this is just the beginning of a new chapter. Strength, endurance and preservation come from a depth that God has so graciously blessed me with, a depth that with the power of prayer from those surrounding me will be much easier attained. I ask not for your sorrow, tears or pity but more for your strength, prayers, support and laughter throughout this journey...in finding humor we find healing. #BROADSTRONG
