Broadcast Jockey at the 2026 Montreal Fringe Festival

We're Dizzy Bones, a theatrical artist collective who's taking our show Broadcast Jockey to the Montreal Fringe Festival. We are Danna-Rae Evasiuk, Miranda Kerridge, Jonathan Stern, and Jennifer Townsend. If you're seeing this, you probably know one of us really well.

The four of us all wrote the show, designed the show, and half of us will be performing in the show. You can find out more about it on our website here .

Why We Need Your Money:

Putting on a show is no small feat, even at the small scale we're doing it at. Every prop, costume, hot dog, and uber ride with our set of car tires costs something. Trust us, we're doing this on a shoestring budget and trust us, we're doing pretty great at it.

But the only way to recoup our costs at a fringe festival is through our box office. We're in an intimate venue with a couple dozen seats that'll lend itself to a great audience experience, but not a great experience for our wallets.

As of right now we have no other forms of revenue. No grants, no sponsorships. Most of us taking unpaid time off of work in order to participate in the festival, because we believe in this project and the opportunities it can bring to us as individuals, and to the project as a whole.

Don't get us wrong, we knew what we were getting into when we signed up for this and we are prepared. But every bit of financial support would mean a lot to us, no matter how big or small. And we figure it's worth it to ask.

Why This Is Important To Us:

We all believe whole heartedly in the message this production speaks speaks - that parasocial relationships and the overconsumption of them will mess anyone up really hard, that we can't always trust Big Brother, and that we're culturally grappling with the social media utopia that was promised to us in 2006.

Presenting this at a festival like the fringe is a leg-up as professional theatre creators. During this process we will be documenting the production with photography and videography so we can pitch it to travel further. We're committed to networking, getting press coverage, and giving Broadcast Jockey the best possible chance at more performances in the future.

And personally, the four of us first met over 7 years ago, in a plywood-floored apartment in Montreal. Since then we've moved, came back, visited, grown and expanded. This marks the first time we're collaborating together in a professional context and everything is super amazing with it. It's a real milestone that we're proud of.

About Broadcast Jockey:

Broadcast Jockey is a feral descent into the attention economy. A mukbanger and camboy feed the algorithm with hot dogs, bodies, and confessions, chasing dopamine. As the eyeballs pile up, a monster fractures their world into a grotesque fever dream of hunger and intimacy. It never stops watching.

This is a form-breaking, alternative multidisciplinary theatre piece where projections, movement, sound, and poetry are a part of the narrative and dissolve storytelling boundaries. Broadcast Jockey invites audiences onto a weird, funny, wild ride and examines how humans relate to technology, and its implications for our social connections.

What You Get:

Complete transparency - we can't offer much. We can't offer comp tickets, or swag, or anything that would cost us money. But we will display your name as a "thank you" in a projection at the end of every show at the Montreal Fringe Festival. And we'll be forever grateful.

Other Ways You Can Support:

If you can't donate, you can share this link with those who may be interested.

You can share a post from our Instagram account to show your support for our project, or if you're in Montreal and want to come to support us with your eyeballs and energy, you can purchase a $15 ticket from the box office . Any help with spreading the word is appreciated.
