As some of you know, Our Tallulah girl is very sick and needs more treatments to get to 100%. Three weeks ago, we lost our Ember (Tallulah's mom) at the age of 6 to lymphoma. As the days passed, Tallulah became down & depressed. She was far from her normal happy self & we knew she was missing her mom. They were very close. We were concerned enough to call her vet at Anchor Animal Hospital. They were very concerned & sent us to the emergency vet. Our appointment was first thing in the morning on Thursday. Tallulah walked in on her own and 2 hours later she was a few breaths away from death when we arrived at CCVS in Buzzards Bay. They were able to stabilize her, but she was very critical and changing by the minute...it was touch & go for a while. Her kidneys were failing fast, her temp was dropping fast, her heart was mad, and we didn't know how much more her body could handle. When they asked if we wanted them to do CPR if she needed it, I blacked out for a second. The questions of how we got here were overwhelming. After having so many tests, X-rays & ultrasound, it became clear what the cause was: Addison's disease triggered by the stress of being depressed over her mom. It's easy to treat if you know your dog has it. Getting to that point isn't easy or cheap, and she has a long road to 100%. We have stretched out every penny we could come up with, but every day a new setback comes along and it's more money. We're not the types of people who feel comfortable asking for help. At this point, we're desperately trying to get her home. If thoughts, prayers, and a share is all someone can do, we are still grateful.
