Brittney’s Triple Spinal Fusion

Donation protected
Earlier this year, Brittney received some unfortunate news from her physician following a routine check up. The doctors reported that Brittney’s X-Rays indicate she has grade 3 Degenerative Spondylolisthesis. Since then, she has visited numerous orthopedic specialists, neurologists and spinal surgeons to figure out what to do. Brittney tried everything to manage her back issues holistically, but her condition has worsened at an accelerating rate in the last few months. After an extended period of contemplation, and with the growing amount of chronic pain she had been experiencing, Brittney has finally given in to the inevitable and has decided to move forward with surgery.

If you know Brittney at all, you know that it is extremely hard for her to ask for help. She has reluctantly allowed me to start a GoFundMe account to help her cover the cost of the procedure that insurance will not cover. Her recovery time will be a minimum of 9 months, and as you know about Brittney, this time of inactivity will be the hardest part for her. Brittney only has 3 months of paid medical leave at 55% of her income. So her financial situation will be tight until she is cleared to go back to work.

This is an extremely difficult and anxiety-provoking time for Brittney, and she can use all the support she can get from loved ones, family and friends. No donation is too small; and if you are unable to contribute she would be extremely appreciative to receive a simple text or phone call. With her permission, I will be updating this page with all the details of her operation, post-op hospitalization and milestones of her rehabilitation.

As of this week, the tentative surgery date is October 7th. Her neuro/spinal-surgeon will be performing a triple spinal fusion of her S1, L5 and L4 vertebrae. The weeks leading up to her surgery date will consist of pre-op appointments, current imaging and blood panels.

Please stay posted if you are interested in following Brittney’s journey to a pain-free life. I will be relaying all messages as they are received, but it would mean a lot to her to hear from you directly to show your support via text, email, or a phone call.
