First, let me state the purpose of this fundraising page:
Brittany Carter has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma for the third time! Obviously there is a GREAT need for medical expenses as well as other expenses as they seek treatment yet again. One of the hardest parts of this event is that
$30,000.00 is required in a few short days, by Tuesday the 22nd. We believe God will supply every need!!!!
Brittany and Schuyler got married 2015 on the heels of her first diagnosis of cancer. They chose a treatment plan and traveled to and from M.D. Anderson for treatment. At the conclusion of those treatments, in January 2016, the testing declared that the cancer was predominantly in remission except for one speck. The medical team, of course, wanted to keep an eye on it.
In March of 2016 that little speck turned into a bigger issue, a second diagnosis of cancer, but yet a little worse this time. Brittany and Schuyler chose a different path of treatment this time thru naturopathic methods. Beginning in May 2016 thru September 2016. At that time in September, Brittany's cancer was confirmed to be in remission. All things considered, she resumed her active lifestyle and became her beautiful, joyful self.
In January 2018, Brittany began feeling a little less energized, started coughing, not feeling well, had labored breathing, and somewhat the symptoms were all to familiar for her. Unfortunately, by the time she chose to go to the ER in the month of May, she was in a very alarming state physically. In short, her hemoglobin was at a 3 (normal is 20), had fluid in her left lung, fluid around her heart, with a heart rate so high doctors said she was setting herself up for heart failure. She was admitted to the hospital, received a blood transfusion of 5 pints of blood, and a day and a half later underwent surgery for pericardial window (got 100 cc's of fluid), a chest tube, a bone marrow biopsy, and a lymph node biopsy. She was intubated and sedated for almost 24 hours immediately after surgery to give her body time to rest.
She has since made "some" progress as far as being able to breath without laboring, less coughing, and getting back to somewhat herself in conversation. She currently still has a chest tube and pericardial tube and is still in the hospital. Several methods of treatment have been presented to Brittany and Schuyler, one is harsh and aggressive, another is almost financially impossible, then of course they have been encouraged to investigate other options on their own. Thru their efforts of investigating, much prayer, fasting, and seeking wise counsel thru the Word of God and those that walk with God, they have made a final decision to go to Oasis of Hope Hospital in Tijuana, Mexico.
Now some reading this are going to be skeptical because of it's location, or maybe have never heard of it, or many other reasons. There is reassurance that much investigation, thorough interviewing of past patients, contact with doctors/staff at Oasis of Hope, and again prayer, the Word and alignment of God working in some miraculous ways to help with the preparation of this plan. Remember God always makes a way when there seems to be no way!
Brittany and Schuyler are full on believers of Jesus as their Lord and Savior and believe in His Word to lead them to Brittany's complete healing!
Imagine if you had been married for three years and most of that time was spent in hospitals, with doctors, treatments, and not being able to live your new lives as a couple to it's fullest? It's been tiring, exhausting, unfulfilling, expensive, but all necessary for Brittany to get well and healthy. If it were you or if it were your spouse battling this despicable affliction, wouldn't you be willing to go and do whatever it takes?
Now that you know their story it is going to take financial assistance to make this avenue of treatment possible that they have been led to do. So we are asking all who feel led to partner with them for any financial contribution as the Lord leads in your heart, as well as believing and praying with them for complete and total healing and peace.
You may contribute through this Go Fund Me or if you feel uncomfortable doing it through this way feel free to contact me through private messenger (Todd Andrea Carter) or phone number [phone redacted], and we will work it out.
Thank You for your prayers and anything you can do to help!
