Single mom in urgent need of assistance

Hi everyone,

I never thought I’d be in this position, but I’m learning that strength also means knowing when to ask for help.

I’m a single mother who has been doing everything I can to stay afloat. For the past seven months, I’ve struggled to find affordable childcare for my 22 month old daughter. I applied for assistance over and over again, but the system moved slowly, and without support, I couldn’t work consistently. As a solo esthetician, I brought my daughter with me to work and only accepting facial clients when someone could watch her—which drastically limited how much I could earn.

I’m grateful to finally say that I was approved for childcare assistance just last week. I now have the availability and drive to work more and begin building back what I’ve lost. But unfortunately, the months of limited income have caught up with me.

I’m currently at risk of eviction and was supposed to pay by 5/12 per a court order. With the added attorney fees and the current month now being past due, I regrettably don’t have the funds (.$4770.95). I’m also behind on all other bills as well. I’ve reached out to every rental assistance nonprofit I could find—none of them have funding available right now.

This has been the most humbling chapter of my life. I’ve never asked for help like this before. I’ve tried to carry it all on my own, suffering in silence. But I believe God is teaching me a lesson in vulnerability—and giving me the strength to let others in.
