Brittany's fight against Large B-Cell Lymphoma
Donation protected
**Update - I am blown away with the love and support this campaign has received so far and this will really help Brittany on her journey. She still has a ways to go, and recovery is a long road. As of now with the donations Brittany and Bobby will be donating $500 (10% of all funds raised) back to the local cancer centre here in Windsor. Thats such an amazing donation, that you all have made possible. I have decided to raise the target goal as I don’t want to limit this campaigns potential. Not only will this help Brittany in this dire time, but will also help the local cancer centre and other cancer patients. Brittany is excited to smash her gong at the end of this, but now she gets to give back to the place that saved her life! Thank you to everyone who has taken their time to share this campaign, or even donated. We are all extremely grateful <3
My daughter-in-law Brittany was diagnosed with Primary mediastinal b-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a rare type of aggressive blood cancer just over a month after her 32nd birthday.
In January Brittany noticed some left arm pain which she figured was a strained muscle from working, this pain soon increased along with swelling and discolouration to her whole left arm. Brittany went to the clinic to have it assessed and was told to go to the ER right away. By the time Brittany arrived in the ER her left arm was now purple and doubled in size. An ultrasound was completed which revealed a large blood clot going from her wrist up her arm, into her neck, and across her chest. Brittany was taken for a CT to rule out blood clots in her lungs. The Dr returned to inform Brittany her lungs were clear of blood clots, but a large 4x8 mass was noted in her chest in between her lungs, pushing onto her left lung and obstructing the blood flow from her heart. Brittany spent 5 days in the hospital having different tests completed , a biopsy of the mass, and monitoring her large blood clot. A week later Brittany received the news that would forever change her life. As a 32 year old, with no previous health issues the word cancer was devistating and something she thought she would never experience.
Brittany’s chemo treatment is very intensive, unlike a lot of chemotherapies, her treatment consists of 96 hours of continuous chemo mixed with other drugs to balance the side effects. This has been taking a toll on her body leaving her weak, and needing to take a leave from her job as a nurse, which she loves dearly, and misses all her patients and co-workers. After chemo it will take months for Brittany to regain her strength and be able to return to working full time again.
I have created this GoFundMe to help assist with the increased expenses during this difficult time. This will allow Brittany to focus on her health and recovery and get her back to the strong healthy happy woman she always loves to be.
I know times are tough for everyone, but any dontation will go along way.
Brittany is not one to ask for help, but I am reaching out personally to you all, to find it in your hearts to help me, to help her. <3
Brittany has decided to donate 10% of all money raised to the cancer centre where she has been receiving her treatments. The whole team there have been amazing and so helpful on this difficult journey.
Thanks sincerely;
Big hugs for you all.
