Brittany’s Emergency Surgery and Recovery

Hi, my name is Michael. At around 12:30 am on May 6th, my wife Brittany hydroplaned on the interstate and got spun around in the rain, causing her vehicle to face the wrong direction. She put her hazards on and called me immediately because the car shut off and she was trying to get it turned around, but about two minutes later an oncoming car hit her head on. I was on the phone with her from the moment she stopped to the moment she was hit, and for about 30 seconds afterward. Then the call dropped. 

She suffered injuries to both legs, requiring surgery, and recovery will be long before she’s able to walk again. I am in grad school to become a therapist, and Britt works as an activities director for senior citizens at an independent living home. Due to our financial situation, we have not been able to afford health insurance this year.

If you know Britt, you know she is full of life and brings joy into everything she does, whether it be working with her seniors, teaching yoga classes, or the myriad of other things she loves to do.
