Hello friends, thank you for taking the time to read: On Monday night, November 8th, I was attacked and bitten on my face by a dog. It was unprovoked with no warning and led to a night in the hospital as well as 7 stitches on my face. The swelling, bruising and pain was unlike anything I've ever experienced. One of the punctures is only a few centimeters from my left eye and left me unable to see clearly out of that eye for 4 days. Not to mention the mental and emotional trauma I will have to carry for the rest of my life. I couldn't even sleep with my own dog for 3 days due to the trauma of this incident. As a dog lover I know these things happen and it was an accident. However, I have decided to take legal action in order to protect myself and to handle this correctly and fairly for both parties involved.
As we all know lawsuits can take months and sometimes years until a settlement is reached. Due to my injuries I am currently unable to work as a photographer and have had to refund all deposits to my clients. As a model, my income has obviously stopped completely and I can't even afford to get my stitches removed. Scarring and other disfigurement means any future income from modeling is unknown.
Until an insurance settlement is reached, I am turning to my community in hopes of finding some sort of financial relief until I can work again. I will be starting a job at Yume Sushi Downtown Sarasota next week once my stitches are removed and bruising has decreased in order to regain some financial stability. I don't want to remove the stitches myself but after refunding so many deposits with zero income my account is negative and I cannot afford professional care. I am unable to pay rent and my phone bill for this month. So if you need to contact me you may reach me on Facebook.
This need for help is temporary as I will be starting a serving job and able to wear a face mask to cover my injuries. But this incident has completely wiped me out for the time being. I set the goal at $1500 as a ball park amount just to help me cover antibiotics, follow up appointments, removal of my stitches when the time comes, and rent. Any donation whether it be 1 dollar or 100 dollars is highly appreciated.
I haven't left my house since the incident occurred and deactivated social media for a while so I apologize if I have been distant. As you can imagine, I don't want to be seen and am very insecure about my injuries. This whole process has been stressful and confusing but I am trying to do the right thing.
I am sure things will go smoothly and this is just the storm before the rainbow. But until then, I thank you all very much for listening to my story and lending a helping hand. ☺️
Thank you for your love and support!
