Dear family and friends,
As many of you are aware, we have been trying to grow our family for some time now. We are holding fast to God's faithful promises and trusting him through this journey. Please take a moment to read and share our story.
Once upon a time.....
Two kids(Troy and I) fell in love and became high school sweethearts, eventually getting married in 2015, buying a house, and adopting a couple cute dogs (+ 2 cats now). We always dreamed of starting a family. But we wanted to take the first few years of our marriage to just enjoy being married and to travel as much as possible (because we LOVE traveling).
4 years into our marriage we decided that it was possibly time to start our family and for us to start a new journey together. We were scared but SO excited. We knew the possibility of it not happening right away and maybe taking a few months. And we've heard of people having to go through infertility treatments but it's something you never actually imagine yourself having to go through.
Fast forward 6 months (after lots of negative tests and heartache), I had an appointment schedule with my OBGYN. We decided if I was not pregnant come August we would start looking into what was going on (because you have to be trying for a full year before most doctors will even help you).
August rolled around and I knew that meant we were about to start a journey that I never thought we would be on. It was terrifying. We started with LOTS of testing and more testing. My OBGYN referred us to a fertility specialist where we endured months more of just testing and waiting.
They found a small polyp on my utrine wall so in December I had a surgery to get that removed and then we could finally move forward with treatments. In January 2020 we decided to switch clinics as well, finding one that suited us SO well. So we started our first IUI treatment in January at Kettering Reproductive Health. So very hopeful of this finally being what we have been waiting for, we were so sure that this might work for us. The first IUI failed and we were crushed. We decided to move on and try again and again, the second and the third treatment failed as well.
Feeling hurt, exhausted and mentally and physically drained we knew our next option was moving into IVF (this is what we decided would be the best next step for us). COVID19 began right as we were going to move into our IVF treatment. This is where God was tugging at our hearts to take a step back for a minute and take a break. We needed time to heal and time to pray and breathe and just be STILL.
As you may be aware, IVF is a very costly medical procedure that is not covered by most health insurance. We have been saving back money just in case we would get to this point. We still are not even close to the amount we will need for this treatment. Most of the money must be paid up front for medications.
After taking some time to pray about this and our next steps. Troy and I feel God leading us to IVF. We decided to start our first IVF treatment in September 2020. This is extremely exciting because we are getting so close to starting our family but it is also very nerve-racking and such a scary journey. We are ready to take on IVF but we can't do it alone.
We started this fundraiser in hope that it will help ease the financial burden of what has already been a long and trying experience for us. Your support would mean the world to us.
