When you find yourself in a dark place, sometimes the hardest thing to do is open up and ask for help.
Brittany is a single hardworking mother of 14-year-old Nichelle, both now homeless after her apartment caught fire in a complex in Fargo, ND. Thankfully she and Nichelle made it out of the complex safely. Still, while her apartment was empty and exposed due to the fire, someone looted the apartment of Brittany’s equipment she uses as part of her profession as a Union Millwright and many electronics and valuables costing close to $17,000. With most of her furniture lost to water damage, she plans to move from Fargo to TX to start a new life there. This move, in addition to the cost of furnishing a new home and a deposit, first and last month's rent payment will cost up to $10,000. Brittany is a proud single mom and had to be convinced to seek help after suffering the loss of her livelihood, but she is extremely grateful to have escaped from the fire alive. If you can find it in your heart to assist monetarily in any way, she will be eternally grateful. Thank you for reading.
$10,000 will assist her immediately in the moving process and out of a hotel, while the remaining
$17,000 will assist in replacing lost equipment and household items.
Proof of ownership of all the equipment does not exist in this case, as most of her equipment was either given to her or purchased from other Millwrights during her apprenticeship.
The primary goal of this fundraiser is to replace lost/stolen items and set Brittany and Nichelle up for success in a new location. However, with your help, we can accomplish a secondary goal, which is to set this small family up in a better situation than before the fire that upended their lives.
Please send what you can and share it with other caring hearts like yours!
Thank you!!
