On June 15th, Brittany and Bill's son William was born still. They were able to spend some precious time with him in mourning before saying a final goodbye.
They have spent the last few months working with a team of care providers to monitor Brittany's physical recovery and understand some of the why as well as mental health support needed to help navigate this heartbreak.
Close friends and their family have been able to surround them with love, financial support and food but, as you can imagine, expenses are piling up.
In addition to the emotional loss of William, Brittany became very ill in the final week and needed to remain in the hospital for days after for recovery and monitoring.
In the weeks after, she has needed to keep up with multiple specialist visits to ensure the long-term health of her kidneys and keep an eye on important blood work numbers that let us know she is recovering well.
Both of them have been able to take time to step away from work as they walk through grief and healing but this has resulted in lost wages. They have also been facing out-of-pocket expenses for therapy, burial expenses for William and the hospital bills for their care as they come.
As it may be the best choice to continue to grow their family, Brittany and Bill hope to explore surrogacy in the future and that will be another expensive venture to anticipate.
I know the strength of our community can help with some of this financial burden from their shoulders.
While respecting their continued need for privacy and space right now, please feel free to share this and donate if you are able.
