Britta Albright’s Transplant Fund

Update:: 399 days after this horrific journey began, Britta received her transplant. On September 15th, she underwent an 18 hour surgery and is now recovering in the ICU. She will be transferred to the transplant floor when stable for several weeks of medical care. After that, she will remain in Pittsburgh, in an extended stay hotel, for several weeks to months, as she will require daily medical appoints to monitor for infection and rejection. During this time she will incur lodging expenses not covered by insurance and obviously continue to remain unable to work. Any contributions, large or small would be greatly appreciated and for those that can’t .. your prayers would be appreciated too!!

On August 11th, 2023, Britta went to a local Emergency Room with abdominal pain and various other alarming gastrointestinal issues. It was found shortly after that Britta had a hernia suffocating her internal organs and by August 13th she had to have a very traumatic removal of more than 75% of her intestines. She was life flighted to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh and had a 26 day hospital stay. She had three live-saving surgeries to cut away dead and dying organs and to reattach what she has left. She is now dependent on IV nutrition and hydration to stay alive.
