Hello. My name is Tamara Stapleton. My daughter is Britney Stapleton. Britney is 31 years old and has been battling diabetes for much of her life. Approximately 2 years ago she began losing her vision to advanced diabetic retinopathy. To date she has no vision in her left eye and 20/400 in her right eye.
Britney has 2 boys, Derrick, 15 and Jordan, 14. Britney's vision loss has been traumatic for us all, but particularly for her boys. She never complains about her misfortune but truly feels bad for her boys, as a mother myself I can see the pain she endures.
Britney doesn't have long before her vision will be complete darkness. I thought before that time she could take her sons on a trip to see things they have never seen and she can still see the looks on their faces as they enjoy themselves and forget about their troubles for a day or two.
Hoping you would like to help Britney and her boys see some things they have not seen together and create some new memories.
