Next year, March 2026 my son Oliver will be dancing at the UDO British Street Dance Championships (Blackpool), with his dance group UDC from Caerau, Maesteg.

UDC is a voluntary run dance school, with high end choreographers. Through the coaches Tracy, Shannel, Finley and the mass volunteers, children have been able to compete successfully at regional, national & world dance championships.

At UDC, we understand the strain of the cost of living at the moment & that not everyone can afford these major events. So, to take the pressure off the parents, we like to fundraise so that every child gets the chance to go. The money raised will pay for the children’s competition tickets for the whole weekend, their British kit t-shirt & travel expenses. We are the only school that provides all of this & will continue to do so. It gets the children into an activity they enjoy, gets them off the streets & promotes healthy living with plenty of exercise.

To help with the fundraising, I would like to help raise some money through the events I have lined up this year.

Sunday 22 June

Bike ride 95 miles Haverfordwest to Maesteg. UDC season opener. (TBA)

Sunday 13 July

Ironman Swansea 70.3

Swim 1.2 miles

Bike 56 miles

Run 13.1 miles (half marathon)

Sunday 21 September

Ironman Wales Tenby

Swim 2.4 miles

Bike 112 miles

Run 26.2 miles (full marathon)

As you see these events will put an enormous stress onto the body not only physically but mentally.
