British Biathlete

Hi, my name is Quentin Wedderburn; I am a biathlete that competes nationally and internationally on the biathlon circuit.

I am seeking financial assistance to help fund my biathlon career, which involves competing worldwide.

I was born in Scotland and then relocated to Canada with my family when I was 1 year old. When I was 3 years old, I learned to ski and swim. After years of dedication and hard work, I competed around Alberta, Canada and achieved podium results.

In 2019 my family and I relocated to Cochrane, AB, Canada, which is very close to the Rocky Mountains. This is where I discovered my new passion and my calling in life...Biathlon.

I train at Canmore Nordic Centre, AB, Canada, home to the 1988 Winter Olympics. This training ground has created many Olympians and Paralympians.

I'm currently a team member of Canmore Nordic Ski Club, Team Trail Sports, British Biathlon Union & Team GB - Youth Olympic Biathlon team

In Nov 2021, I was selected to represent British Biathlon Union; I immediately travelled to Europe and competed in the International Biathlon Union Junior Cups in Italy and then successfully qualified for the 2022 Youth World Championships in Utah, USA.

During the 2022/2023 racing season, I will compete in IBU Junior Cups in Italy and Austria and Youth World Championships in Kazakhstan.

I've been shortlisted to represent Team GB at the 2023 European Youth Olympic Festival in Italy, where I will compete against the best youth biathletes in the world.

I'm seeking financial assistance to help fund my annual expenses, which include: club membership fees, national and international training camps, biathlon equipment, ammunition, a shooting range pass, a nordic centre pass, flights, food, training and racing, ski waxing, gym membership and accommodation.

Any funding will significantly help me pursue my biathlon dream of representing Team GB at the senior Winter Olympics.
