Hi, for those of you who don't know me, my name is Brianna. I am a sixteen year old ballet dancer from Colorado. I currently go to a performing arts high school in my local area, but now that I'm sixteen, it's important to start getting myself out in the professional field. Dancers careers start at a very young age, and a summer intensive is going to help build my resume, strengthen my technique, and help me make connections within the dance and ballet community. This summer, I have an incredible opportunity to participate in a four week ballet summer intensive in California. I am so grateful to have made it through the audition phase and to be offered a position. The hard part is funding my dream. You see, my long term goal is to become a professional ballet dancer and this summer intensive will have lots of classical ballet technique classes alongside pointe, pas de deux, variations, modern, jazz, character, and strength-building classes such as conditioning. I will have the opportunity to work with a professional company, their choreographers, directors, and even dancers. My family has been a great support system in getting me in the direction of where I want to go.  Although my family supports me in this journey, it isn't easy on a budget. Tuition, room and board is $3,775. This doesn't include the costs of travel, food, and pointe shoes. My mom is a single mom who works three jobs. This intensive doesn't offer scholarships and we can't afford to send me single-handedly. Every little bit would make the world of difference for my mom. Even if you aren't in the position to donate, if you would take the time to share this with family and friends it would mean the world to me.
