Bristol Bat Rescue

We, Kiri Green and Stewart Rowden and our young son, are Bristol Bat Rescue. We used to be Avon Bat Care.

We have been specialising in caring for injured and sick bats and bat pups/juveniles in need of care for over a decade now. We are registered with the Bat Conservation Trust as carers and are one of the organisations BCT trust to take out of hour calls.

We were trained by a vet who specialises in wildlife care, and by RSPCA staff and staff at a wildlife hospital we volunteered with for years, and we are the people the local vets and RSPCA call for assistance, as well as lots of members of the public.

Caring for bats requires money for food and vet bills, and as no one funds us to rescue and care for bats, and rehabilitate them, we are requesting financial assistance with this year's food and vet costs through Gofundme.

We need to purchase mealworms in large quantities to feed the adult bats. We buy Royal Canin puppy milk powder to hand rear pups, but this year after giving a talk to a school they purchased that for us for this year's pups.

We also have vet bills to pay. We can take badly injured bats to vets for euthanasia for free but if bats require antibiotics and pain relief for treating injuries ( many cat inflicted) then we have to pay for it ourselves.
