Briones Family Flood Relief

Over the last week, the Bay Area has experienced a series of massive winter storms, the worst in 170 years, which has led to catastrophic floods, evacuations, and severe damage to people's homes, including loss of life in some areas.

Unfortunately, our loved ones, Mario and Angelica and their three kids were tragically affected by this storm in ways they could never have imagined.

While they lay asleep the morning of New Year's Eve, they were suddenly awakened by water flowing through the floor of their home. The place that they have called home for nearly 11 years all of a sudden became severely flooded with insurmountable damages.

Needing to evacuate immediately, they have been forced to stay out of a hotel ever since while they wait for the storms to completely subside to assess the full extent of damages.

When they called their insurance company, they were devastated to hear that they would not be covering the cost of damages because, unfortunately, like most homeowners, their policy did not cover flood damages.

Now, the Briones family has been faced with the reality that this expense, which they were not prepared to take on, must come out of their own pocket.

So far, the cost to make repairs to their home and to return it to a habitable condition has been estimated to be more than twenty thousand dollars. This does not include expenses they have had to incur as a result of staying in a hotel and that they will continue to incur as they wait to repair damages before they can move back in.

About the Briones Family

Mario and Angelica Briones have been together for over 20 years. They are the proud parents to their son Gabriel & twins Adrian and Audrina. They are hard-working parents who have raised their kids in this home and have shared countless memories here. As a family, they have always been willing to lend a helping hand to others when in need and are some of the most thoughtful and caring members of our family.

The flood in their home was not only shocking and completely heartbreaking, but it has led to profound damages that they were not expecting to incur.

What your donation, you would contribute to:

-Water damage restoration, waterproofing, and installation of a french drain to prevent further flooding and damage

-Asbestos and Mold abatement

-Reparation of all flooring across the home

-Repair of sheetrock and baseboards

-Replacement of furniture destroyed

-Hotel and food cost for the family while they are displaced

Although no amount of money can replace the sentimental items lost due to the flood, the family is currently feeling devastated and overwhelmed by their situation and is seeking help. Our hope is that with collective support we can help Mario, Angelica, and the kids restore and return to their home as soon as possible.
