I’m setting up this fundraise to help our beloved friends: Pulga, Celso, and their daughter, María Sofía.
They’re a hard working, loving family, who lost all of their material possessions after Hurricane Harvey flooded their home.
Friends and family members have been really helpful but there’s still a long way to go. The house needs hundreds of dollars worth of repairs, their furniture is absolutely ruined, they’re left with no clothes, and, obviously, María Sofía lost all of her toys.
I can’t bring myself to describe how much it broke my heart to throw away ALL of Sofi’s toys, ruined after the flood; but her parents were too devastated to do it.
They currently have a temporary place to stay, but after that they have nowhere to settle.
Two years ago, Pulga almost had an amputation of her right leg due to an invasive infection that required several expensive surgeries (worth thousands of dollars). The family was still in the process of paying off the hospital debt when this tragedy struck them.
Pulga has always been a brave warrior, facing adversity with a positive attitude and fighting against all odds. Even now, being left with nothing, she has been volunteering at a Clinical Facility to help those in situations similar to hers.
This must surely be the most challenging task they have ever had to face as a family: no money, and a little girl who has even offered her dad “all of her savings” to help rebuild their lives. Given the fact that her family has always been kind to those in need, I believe it is now time for them to get something in return.
Please join us in helping our friends, this loving and caring family, to recover what has taken them more than six years to build. Every donation counts and will help them to be a little closer to their goal.
God bless you.
