On Tuesday, June 26, 2022, 2-year old, Josiah Felix-Martin was dropped off for his second, 4-hour, court ordered, supervised visitation with biological Mother, Lesitte Monique Felix. When Josiah’s Dad, Jarred Martin arrived to pick up his son, Josiah along with Lesitte and her parents were gone. Family members were also living at the home refused to disclose where Josiah, Lesitte and her parents had gone. Jarred immediately contacted Bakersfield authorities to report that Josiah had been taken.
Jarred Martin has sole, legal custody of Josiah and it was ordered that his Mother, Lesitte only have “supervised” biweekly visitations (up to 4 hours) with the condition that her Father or another family member (approved by Jarred), be present during the visitation. Since the first visit went as planned, there wasn’t a concern or any suspicion the day of the second visit.
Lesitte has a history of taking Josiah without permission (occurred in 2020 in Los Angeles County) in addition to other mitigating circumstances and concerns, hence the reason behind supervised visitations. This makes Josiah an “at-risk” juvenile.
Bakersfield Police Department and Kern County District Attorney decided against launching an Amber Alert due to the fact that at the time of abduction, the current case was a “custody case”. Once privy to the extenuating circumstances, and confirming that Lesitte did in fact leave the county with Josiah with the intent to kidnap him, they reported Josiah as a missing person and still refused to launch an amber alert as they feared it could be a concern to public safety and harm to Josiah if anyone were to attempt to make contact with her without assistance.
Per the advice of our attorney and law enforcement, we have been advised to not disclose publicly, any specifics that could interfere with the investigation and process in bringing him home. Please DO NOT attempt to act as a vigilante, be a hero, or make any rescue attempts without the assistance of authorities. This is not only for your safety but for Josiah’s as well. As permitted, we will disclose additional information to the public.
Josiah is a fun loving, full of life, happy, little boy with an infectious smile, who is loved by everyone he meets. We are working around the clock to locate Josiah and bring him home safely.
Status updates will be shared via Facebook, Instagram and TikTok via the handle and hashtag #bringjacobhome. An official website will be launched soon. Please contact the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 1-800-THE-LOST (843-5678) or the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) [phone redacted] with any information or for assistance. For questions, media inquiries, volunteer or assist with fundraising, please send ‘Team Jacob’ a direct message on social media or through the website, when available.
We are actively working to raise funds to cover the ever-growing legal fees, travel expenses, flyer copies and hopefully purchase billboards in the areas we believe Josiah may have been taken. In addition to the Family Law attorney, we need to retain another attorney to handle the abduction side of things which has added even more to our expenses. We are selling off everything we can, and even with what we can sell, we still will need help.
All funds donated to this fundraiser will be used by #teamjosiah and Josiah’s Dad, to cover legal fees, as well as any and all expenses pertaining to bringing Josiah home.

If anyone has ANY information as to where Josiah is, you can remain anonymous! Our main priority is bringing him home safely. Please contact authorities or you may message us. We will do everything we can to protect your identity when forwarding the information shared as we understand that people are scared to get involved.
We must reiterate that for Josiah’s safety as well as yours, please DO NOT attempt to approach or apprehend his Mother or any persons who are with them. Immediately contact the local authorities or call 9-11 for assistance.
