As most know, my beautiful sister, Janice, was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is a retired marine living in San Diego, CA. She is out there with no family and not many people, if any, she can rely on. She still works on base as a civilian and her co-workers have been amazing, but it's just not the same as family.
When she was diagnosed they immediately started her with her treatment plan. She said she wanted to try and get home first because she has no one out there and they advised she didn't have time. She had surgery and scheduled 6 rounds of chemo. She just finished chemo number 5 and she is not doing well. She has been hospitalized a few times and she emotionally NEEDS her family. My brother was able to visit a few months ago and she was able to feel better just by that small amount of human contact. She still has one round of chemo, another surgery and 6 weeks of radiation left. She can't do this alone any more. She literally can't. We lost my dad and brother not even a year ago so she is emotionally drained and hasn't even had time to mourn. She needs us to help take care of her.
If she can have surgery here she can do it and radiation at UC. If she has surgery in San Diego, they need her to stay there for the radiation. The ONLY way to get her home is to do it and do it now! This requires getting her out before her lease has to be renewed. It's up next month. If she stays past next month, she will have to break a lease which is outrageous and she can't afford month to month. We would need to hire a company to pack her up (she's been in CA for an very long time and has a car), move her stuff across country, get her cat moved, get someone out there to help with all of this, get plane tickets for her and the person that goes out to help and tie up any loose ends with bills. She can't do any of this right now and needs to hire others to do so.
For her health, mental and physical, Janice needs to be home. She needs her family and friends. No one should be going through what she is going through alone. She can't even drive herself to the grocery. Please, find it in your heart to donate ANYTHING and help me get my sister home! Every day that we are still apart is a day we could be helping her fight this disease!!!!
If you can't donate, we truly understand! Please share this for us! Prayers are ALWAYS welcome!!! Prayer works!!!! We've witnessed so many times!
My sister is one of the strongest women I know and she WILL beat this!!!!
