- Hi, my name is Lashunda and my daughter Zhamiya was recently misdiagnosed with Rhabdomyolysis at a children’s hospital out of Atlanta which caused her real illness to progress. She was diagnosed as of 8/29/24 at LeBonheur Children’s hospital with Dermatomyositis where she reside for her 3rd week today. Dermatomyositis is an auto immune disease that causes muscle weakness and degeneration (tissue death) and a rash on your skin. Zhamiya went from normal child activities to being unable to walk, stand, sit up, or simply roll over on her side. This has cause me to lose my job and unable to provide for my family. Being at my daughter’s bed side is my number one priority as I am nursing her back to health along with the many great doctors here at LeBonheur. I am asking for donations for bills and to help move due to us living upstairs and my daughter not being able to use them as she is disabled at this time.
