Zikr Dance Ensemble, Colorado’s most unique professional dance company, has been inspiring audiences for 16 years with performances that explore the transcendent and spiritual aspects of dance from cultures around the world. We are now at a pivotal moment: Zikr Dance Ensemble has been approved to acquire a major new work from Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, an internationally acclaimed Belgian/Moroccan choreographer. This is a rare honor—no other dance company in Colorado has a piece by Cherkaoui in their repertoire. Bringing his choreography to our stage will not only validate the quality of our company but also mark the Colorado premiere of his work, elevating our profile and offering something truly special to our audiences.
