Dear friends and family,

I write this with a heavy heart, as we mourn the tragic loss of my beloved husband and Tien's father, Travis. His passing has left a void in our lives that can never be filled. As I grieve, I also face the daunting task of arranging his final journey home to the Bahamas from Toronto, where we’ve made our home together.

Travis was not only a loving husband but also a caring son, uncle, god father, brother and a loyal friend. He was so excited to father our newborn baby, a role he held proudly. Unfortunately he was unexpectedly diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and passed away during treatment. Tien, who arrived 5 weeks early during her father’s time in the ICU, will now grow up without his physical presence. It pains me deeply that she has never felt her father’s arms, heard his voice, and will never experience his love and guidance firsthand.

One of Travis’ final wishes was to be buried back in his hometown Nassau, Bahamas. The financial burden of arranging his funeral and repatriating his body is overwhelming, especially with a newborn to care for. I humbly ask for your support during this incredibly challenging time. Your donations will help cover the funeral expenses to ensure that Travis receives a proper farewell in his homeland, as well as general living and miscellaneous expenses as I transition while on maternity leave.

Our goal of $80,000 CAD roughly converts to $60,000 USD, the currency in which the funeral will be paid in the Bahamas. Any contribution beyond this cost will support us in transitioning during this time.
