On April 5th, 2026, Stephen's world stopped.

He may not call as often as we'd like. He doesn't always show up on time. He's a bit of a kid himself — quiet, a little goofy, with a deadpan sense of humor that sneaks up on you and makes you laugh before you even realize what happened. And that smile. If you know Stephen, you know the one.

He's our nephew. Our brother. A father who loves his kids fiercely, even if he's still figuring out how to show it. He's not perfect — and he'd be the first to crack a joke about that — but when it truly matters, Stephen shows up. That's just who he is.

On April 5th, a driver hit him on his motorcycle and kept going.
What they left behind is almost impossible to read: a broken ankle, a degloved leg — where the skin is torn away from the muscle — a broken and dislocated hip, and a broken and degloved thumb. He has been through several surgeries already, and there are more ahead. Skin grafts. Months of physical therapy. A recovery that will test every bit of that quiet resilience he carries.

He can't work. He can't drive. He can't do any of the ordinary things right now. And somewhere, his kids are waiting for their dad to get better.
What we're raising will go toward:

Hospital bills and surgical costs
Medications and ongoing care
Transportation to and from therapy
Groceries and everyday needs while he heals
Lost wages during his recovery

Stephen isn't the type to ask for help. He'd probably make a self-deprecating joke about the fact that we're doing this for him. But this is the moment we show up for him — the way he has always, quietly, shown up for us.
If you can give, give. If you can share, share.
Either one could change the road ahead for him.
He's got a long way to go. But he doesn't have to go it alone.

Thank you
