Bringing Samuel Baker’s body home

Samuel Baker, a Rwandan national was and is still loved by many. In all the places that he has lived, visited and worked, he managed to leave a positive mark. He was an excellent listener, an incredible hard working young man, passionate about Economics, and life. He was an excellent friend to many, and loved having a good time wherever he was.
On 28th December 2018, while on holiday with a close friend and his family in Normandie (France), Samuel passed away tragically.
At the age of 25, Samuel was pursuing a PhD in Economics at City, University of London. He held a Masters of Science in Economics and Finance from Strathclyde Business School in Glasgow. His first graduate job was at JP Morgan in the UK as an Analyst. He then decided to join the Central Bank of Rwanda to contribute to the progress of his home country, particularly to develop financial literacy among the public.
Samuel was full of life and was a visionary in all his endeavours. He would have loved his funeral to be in his home country (Rwanda), and it’s in this regard that we would like to request for your help in honouring his loving memory and supporting us in bringing him back home to give him the funeral that he deserves.
His body has to be brought back from France to Rwanda, and this will cost approximately £6500 ($8000 / €7000). Due to his sudden passing, we need your support to cover the costs because we cannot do this alone. We need your support to navigate this tragedy.
Our selected beneficiary for this campaign is Ms. Francisca Agina, a close friend to Sam's family. As she is in one of GoFundMe's supported countries, she will be responsible for withdrawing the money into her personal bank account. Once this has been done, she will directly transfer the money into the account of Samuel Baker's mother,
