On the evening of Thursday, June 17, 2021, our world changed forever. Tragedy struck when Randal, my husband and father to our daughter, had a dirt bike accident and suffered a neck fracture, severely fractured skull, traumatic brain injury and grade 3 Diffuse Axonal Injury (worst type of brain injury). He was air lifted to the hospital where he remains on life support with only me and his parents are able to visit. Attempts are being made to bring him out of sedation, but he is not sustaining on his own. Still Randal is a fighter!! We are all holding on to hope that he will pull through this.
At 36 years old, Randal is a loving husband to me Donya, Daddy to Lexi or “Luger Boo” as Randal affectionately calls her, stepdad to Jay and Brandon, son to Charlene and Randal Sr., oldest brother to Steven & Cory and a friend to so many… Randal is fun loving and easy going. He loves muscle cars and boats and was currently working on building a small home for his family and restoring his 84 C4 Corvette. Many say he is a “Jack of all trades.” It's hard for even me to grasp the gravity of this situation. His last words to me was (I'm taking Brandon to the waterfall and I'll be back in 45 minutes) those minutes turned to hours.
I'm trying so hard to remain positive for our children. But feel so crushed under the weight of this tragedy and apprehensive about our future. The hospital has talked about some hard decisions, and Randal was the main financial supporter in our home. Of course we never saw ourselves in this situation, so without him working, there is no financial support set up for accidents or incidents of this magnitude.
*As of Monday August 16th Randal got denied by his insurance to go to rehab, so now he will be coming home early next week and he will require a lot of medical equipment as he is still in a minimally conscious state. The money that is donated will be going towards his medical bills, equipment and his PT & OT.*
***update 10/12/21***
We really need financial help. Randal has been home for a little over a month. He is still in a minimally conscious state and completely dependent on me. I am trying so hard to raise money to try and get him the best help I can get as his insurance seems to not cover what's really beneficial to him.

- Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
- Craniosacral Therapy
- Stem Cell Therapy
- Acupuncture
- Easy Stand
- Motor Pedal for his legs
- His formula
- And for medical bills
He has developed spasticity and contractions in his muscles because he is not getting the therapy he needs as his insurance denied his inpatient rehab and I can't take him to outpatient rehab until I have the right transportation. He is still early in his injury and this therapy and rehab is very crucial for his recovery. I've tried ordering what I can afford off Amazon to help him at home but we're only making not even $2000 a month and I have bills and food to pay. Yes I have applied for Medicaid and food stamps and yes I've applied for Social Security. I applied for all of that like 2 weeks after his accident. Apparently with Medicaid and foodstamps I didn't turn in everything so I have to start all over and his social security won't go into effect until January... as of right now he is receiving short term disability through his job. But we are only receiving half of what he made. So that's resulting in not even $2000 a month. As of this past Friday (the day he got paid) we're negative $45 in the bank. I really need help...
I just don't get how this gofundme has been so unsuccessful but yet I see other gofundme's in similar situations raise more than what they've asked for...
