My mom, Pamela Roberts, passed away unexpectedly on January 25th in Florida. She was dog sitting for a friend, fell asleep, and never woke up. As you can imagine we are all having a tough time with her passing. Her brother, my Uncle Steve, has been able to travel to Florida to start the process of getting my moms affairs is order. We have learned that my mother did not have any form of life insurance. The cost of her final expenses will fall onto my brother, myself, and our family. Needless to say this is overwhelming. Just like my mom; I'm a proud, can handle anything on my own, type of person. But even I have to admit that this is more than I can handle. Currently we are planning to have my mother cremated and sent back to Wisconsin. Once we have her here we will have a celebration of life, plans are still being worked out. We are asking for donations to help with costs related to her cremation, celebration of life, and handling all her affairs in Florida. If there is any money left over after covering my mom's final expenses, it will be donated in her name to the American Heart Association. My mom more than likely died from a heart attack. Her grandson Ryan, my stepson, was born with a congenital heart defect. I can think of no better place to donate any extra funds to.
The lone bright spot of the past few days has been hearing how my mom touched so many people's lives, and how much she was loved. Thank you to everyone who has reached out with kind words, or a memory of my mom to share. It has helped me a great deal to work through all of this.
Thank you,
Justin.
