For those of you who don’t know our most beautiful Barbara Janell Kerr passed away unexpectedly Friday the 26th of March, aged 50.
Unexpectedly doesn’t begin to describe it as Barb was getting ready to come to Oregon to be with her daughters as they welcome the arrival of another beautiful grandchild this week. The immense sadness in us all is almost too much to bear, Tom found her sleeping but there was nothing that could be done and our hearts are with him and her Sister Dana at this time. I know we all feel the grief of her loss however for her daughters who anticipated her arrival, who awaited that beautiful smile and raucous laugh that would have filled the room as they greeted another sweet little family member, the pain and heartbreak is unrelenting. We need to do as much as we can to help them.
If you are reading this and knew Barb then I’m sure you have a story of how she helped you in your time of need, whether by shelter, a warm hug or by her depth of spiritual advice. Barb was always there for those who needed her with boundless energy and never ending love.
Now as her community I ask that you be there for her. Funerals are extremely expensive and we need to pull together to raise enough, not only for her funeral and cremation but to bring our Barb home. We want to make sure that her family can cover funeral costs and go to collect her Ashes and bring our beautiful Barb back to Oregon where she would want to be. We also want to bring back some of her art works that are not only heirlooms for her children and grandchildren but also pieces of her very heart and soul.
We all understand these are difficult times financially and appreciate any and all donations that can be made to make sure we can Bring Our Beloved Barb Home.
As we all know Barb had such a sense of community and we are her tribe. We are the ones she prayed for, took time for and loved.
For those not lucky enough to know her well, she appeared to be a rough diamond. For those of us who had the honour of her heart we know she wasn’t rough at all. Our Barb is a true diamond, cut so exquisitely that the likes of her light and illuminations have never been matched. Our family jewel that glistened so brightly shines on us now from above.
So please donate what you can and share this link, nothing is too small a donation as we honour her in the way she would want at this time.
As her cousin, what I know for sure is that she will always love us from the very depths of her soul, and right now, for sure, Heaven Smells Of Sage.
Love and Light to you All,
Lucretia,
