Bringing New Voices to NYC Theater
Man in Motion
WHEN: Wed. Aug. 12, 2:00 PM, Thur. Aug. 13, 5:00 PM, Sat. Aug. 15, 8:00 PM
WHERE: AMT Theater, 345 W. 45th St., NYC NY
I’m raising funds to bring a new play to the Broadway Bound Theater Festival in New York City this August. This project is deeply personal—its inspiration comes from my own family’s experience a generation ago, when they fell victim to a scam involving oil wells. My play brings these issues into today's world, showing how these predatory practices have evolved, weaving in modern challenges like in-game betting that tempt sensible people with promises of quick and easy money. The play uses comedy to keep the tone engaging and to offer hope, even as it explores some of the darker realities of our world.
The festival venue seats 99 people, and our production will run for just one week. We’re keeping things simple with minimal sets and costumes, so the majority of the funds will go directly to paying our talented actors, crew, and director. We want this show to be as professional and polished as possible, viewing the festival as a launching pad for bigger opportunities, so part of our budget will also support a promotional campaign to help us find a producer who can take the play to the next level.
I’m reaching out to theater lovers, my professional network, and friends-and-family to help make this vision a reality. Your support will not only bring this story to life on stage, but also help amplify new voices in the arts. Thank you for believing in this project and for joining us on this journey.
Our budget covers: insurance, festival fees, actors & staff, rehearsal space, advertising/marketing, programs/scripts, and props/set/wardrobe.
There are other ways to help, even if you can't support us through this platform. Come see the show - that's what counts the most for all of us! Tickets are sold through the Broadway Bound Theatre Festival website and will be available as of mid-to-late May 2026. Share the word with your friends. Link to our show and our fund-raising campaign on social media. If you'd like to contribute outside of the online campaign or help in any way, please contact us - we'd love to hear from you.
