My story follows a FRIM (Forest Research Institute Malaysia) field researcher on an expedition deep in the Titiwangsa Mountains, who notices that a snow-capped mountain appears intermittently on the northern horizon where the Gulf of Thailand is—something that should be impossible. Driven to unravel the mystery of the distant mountain, he becomes aware that the native flora and fauna of the jungle have become twisted versions of what they should be. Armored mangrove trees, gaurs that seem to peer into his soul, and a wiry-haired woman who is as ancient, magnetic, and enigmatic as that impossible snow-capped mountain all creep into his life and seduce him. Something wonderful and dreadful is happening in this land, and he is swept up into a personal and mythic journey beyond his imagination.

Writing my first novel (and building a career as an author) has always been a goal. However, like many artists, I’ve faced barriers that have made it difficult to dedicate the time and resources needed to complete a project of this scale.
