Hello, my name is Samuel Ugoji. I am raising funds to help bring my father back home and give him a dignified burial in his homeland.

My father lived in the United States for several years, where he bravely battled stage 4 prostate cancer. Despite all efforts, his health condition made it impossible to bring him back to Nigeria while he was alive. Before his passing, his deepest wish was to return home and be laid to rest in his father’s land, according to our traditions and cultural values. At the moment, his body is still lying in a hospital in New Jersey, and it has been an emotional and painful experience for our family.

we have thought about options of burrying him down there with no immediate family around and the cost is almost the same as bringing him back home.

This cause is deeply personal and important to me. In our culture, honoring a parent’s final wishes is a sacred responsibility, and giving my father a proper burial at home is the last act of love and respect I can offer him.

The funds raised will be used to cover the costs of repatriating his body to Nigeria, including hospital and mortuary fees, transportation, legal documentation, and burial arrangements in line with our customs. Any support or assistance will go directly toward helping us lay my father to rest with dignity and honor.
