Hi, I’m Kiki Mora-Gonzalez, and I’m sharing this with a full heart and a hopeful spirit.

After five years of challenge after challenge, our family is finally on the edge of something good — something great. We’re preparing to welcome our mom home from rehab this Christmas after a long health battle, and we’re so close to making it happen.

But we need a little help.

Our dad, a lifelong professional chef, is the rock of this house. Even after losing his dream job during COVID — where he ran an entire corporate kitchen with creativity and leadership — he didn’t give up. He’s kept this home going, heart first. No matter what hit us, he found a way to keep food on the table, energy in the kitchen, and love in the air.

This home is his — and now it’s time to adapt it so Mom can safely return.

She’s doing better every day, and her recovery has given us all something to believe in again. But she’ll need a residential elevator lift to move between floors, along with some additional accessibility upgrades to make the home safe and supportive.

We’re already working hard:

• We’re in the process of selling Dad’s beautifully restored food truck, which he invested over $50,000 into over the years. It was his dream project — and letting it go is bittersweet, but we know it’s for the greater good.

• We’re taking on remodeling work ourselves as much as possible.

• We’re rebuilding our family relationships, healing from loss, and holding tight to the joy we do have — especially our kids, our home, and our future.
